Barbara and I visited the Rochdale EG exhibition at Touchstones yesterday. I have to admit that much of the work was very traditional but exquisite. However as a traditional stitcher myself, I was in my element. Secondly, the exhibition also included work from the Smocking group and these pieces were innovative and quite lush!!!!We were asked to pick our favourite piece and I found it almost impossible.
I eventually decided on this, below,But I also loved this….
and this smocked piece……..
The gallery has disabled spaces for parking , a pleasant cafe and shop and is easy to find. I recommend you visit this exhibition, soon.
I also love the one with the leaves. It is a Japanese Embroidery design. Do you know who stitched it?
